Everything that has a beginning has an ending.
This should be the part where I rant about my experiences from school, but I guess I’ll have to keep it cute this once and stick to fashion, seeing that this is my first time writing to you (whoop whoop 🥳).
My last days at the University were the most fun I have had on campus since I got in for my BSc degree five years ago. School work was intense and stressful as always, but best believe the activities spanned out through these last days made me feel so good and at ease, the fashion aspect more specifically. There is a dress code? Count me in!!!
First, let’s dive into FYB (Final Year Brethren) week!
I was present at 3 of the 5-day activity/FYB week. When I tell you I had the time of my life just by playing dress up and hanging with my colleagues!
Let’s get into the fits.
**Day One (jean/denim)~ Denim bottoms+denim sneakers? Amazing combo! I paired my denim with a cropped black tee and rounded the look with “channel o” earrings.
**Day Two (cooperate)~ An (unbuttoned) oversized plaid blazer paired with a black camisole, skirt, and flat office shoes.
**Day Four (ankara)~ ‘A damsel in this dress,’ do you hear me!!? This outfit stamped green as MY color because before now, we were not cool. I felt so good and feminine in this simple dress tailored by Vee Sartorial. This ankara was my favorite look from FYB week; the length, print, colors, sleeves, hair+scarf, and accessories were all in unity, almost like they held hands in a circle and placed me in the middle.
That’s all for FYB week.
**D-Day for final examination/sign-out~ I took a step outside the staple sign-out dress code, being pants and a white tee. I went with a somewhat all-black fit: tennis skirt worn over pantyhose, a body-hug top, face cap, and of course a custom ‘sign-out’ jacket with a white shirt in hand for signatures and grey sneakers for color drift.
Compliments and that... ⬇️

Project defense~ First of all, cornrows supremacy! Could you believe I wore two outfits under 30 hours for this one reason?! There was no escape. Anyway, both looks were put together at the very last minute and I have no words. The process was highly chaotic, and yes, there were flaws, but I did the best I could and loved it.
By now you should have clocked my obsession with oversized blazers. They give me life!
Leave a comment letting me know which outfit you love the most.
Can you guess what song is currently playing in my head? Mr West’ Good Morning track, “…I guess this is my dissertation, homie this sh*t is basic, welcome to graduation, good morning…” Won’t he do it!!!!!
Here's a questionnaire I curated to introduce myself to you fashion-wise.
Q- How would you describe your style currently? Ans- My style as of right now is, comfortable, feminine, edgy, chic, and STILL evolving. I basically searched and found the muse in me and as it is, I am just trying to live through her.
Q- Whose style do you admire and why? Ans- My sister’s. Her choice of style gives off this aura of serenity, boldness, and freedom. A lot of the things I know about fashion were earlier instilled by her. Be it how to mix and match colors, what pieces to buy and those to ignore, styling on a budget, hair styling, etc. Growing up with her as an older sister was elite.
Q- What are your fashion and beauty must-haves? Ans- Scarves, pieces of jewelry, press-on nails, and lippies, to mention a few.
Q-We all know fashion is a form of self-expression, what do you want your style to say about you? Ans- I want my style to say that I am confident, creative, and not afraid to take fashion risks.
Q- What do you gravitate towards while shopping? Ans- Versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched gracefully.
Q- What are your favorite Nigerian-owned clothing brands? Ans- You know what’s funny? I’ve never owned or worn pieces by these brands but I’m always surfing their website. In no particular order, my favorites are; Kai Collective, Atafo, Hertunba, Kílèntár, DyeLab, Desirée Iyama, Emmy Kasbit, Ashluxe, Trax Apparel, Bawsty, Weiz Dhurm Franklyn… Omg! How many are those? *giggles* Anyways, I’m obsessed with their designs and I look forward to wearing them in the near future.
Q- Which fashion stylist resonates with your style the most? Ans- Kollin Carter. He is the GOAT!
Q- Is there any fashion icon you would like to raid his/her closet? Ans- Yes. Fisayo Longe, immediately! I only need 30 minutes in there.
Q- What are your go-to colors when choosing an outfit? Ans- Before now, I’d say black and earth tone colors, but surprisingly, bright and shiny colors have now joined the chat, and I’m loving it!
Q- What is your favorite fashion quote? Ans- “Be royal in your fashion, choose yourself every time” ~Baignor Joiner
